Research Focus
During their first year of life, babies develop a wide range of preverbal skills that enable them to communicate about objects and events in their environment. In my research, I am particularly interested in understanding the origins and mechanisms that contribute to variations in the development of these abilities. To achieve this, I investigate the influence of temperament, cognitive abilities, and genetics in infants on the age at which communicative skills emerge. Furthermore, I explore the impact of differences in the dynamics of early parent-child interactions.
