DFG: Language Development
The research project The predictive role of declarative gestures for language development: Experimental longitudinal study with children between 12 and 30 months was funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) (2012-2015). With the research project The predictive role of preverbal gesture communication for the development of language and preschool competences, also funded by the DFG: A longitudinal study with special consideration of language development delay and multilingualism, the longitudinal project was continued with (2016-2019). The research collaboration, led by Prof Dr Ute Ritterfeld, PD Dr Katharina Rohlfing & Prof Dr Ulf Liszkowski, and Prof Carina Lüke, investigated the early identification of late talkers, taking into account multilingualism and the social influence on pre-linguistic-communicative development.
