Little mentalists: How infants read other minds (https://crossing-project.de/)
In the last decade, researchers found that infants start to understand that others have their own thoughts and beliefs already much earlier than 4 years of age. For instance, infants help an adult to find a hidden toy if he was tricked by another person. Thus, they seem to understand that the adult’s perception differs from their own perception of reality. However, the foundations and scopes of an early mindreading system remain unclear. In cooperation with Prof. Hannes Rakoczy from the University of Göttingen, we attempt to read the minds of our little mind readers and answer these and other open questions.
